BYLAWS
The Bylaws which were adopted January 13, 2001 were revised to include changes which were made at yearly meetings of the Yacht Club and recorded in the minutes of those meetings. The new Bylaws were adopted by vote of the membership.
FINANCES
There was $4039.09 in the Yacht Club bank account on 1/1/07 and there was $4275.46 in the bank account on 1/1/08. This represents a gain of $236.37. Total income was $1785.00 and total expenses were $1548.63.
RACING
There will be a Spring Series, Summer Series, and Manifest Race. The Spring Series and Summer Series will each have 6 races with 1 throw out race for each series. There will also be 4 beer can races early in the summer on Saturdays to start at 6:00 PM at mark 6. There is no entry fee and no awards for the beer can races. Dates for the races will be announced later.
LAKE WATER LEVEL
Jack Bakken said that on January 31 the snow pack was 143% of average which should bring the water level in the lake up considerably. As in the past the water level is affected by other people who have water rights.
COMMUNITY SAILING
Sid introduced Steve Frank who is the head of Community Sailing. Steve spoke about Community Sailing which was started in 1995 and has sailing programs for young people at Standley Lake and Cherry Creek Reservoir. There are 7 adult instructors and many junior instructors. There have been about 3800 young people who have attended Community Sailing programs since it started in 1995. After the meeting individuals made donations totaling $225.00 and the Club made a donation of $200.00. This money is to go to the Lake Granby Yacht Club TS Smith Endowment Fund. This fund was started by the Yacht Club for Community Sailing in 2004. The Club is authorized to make donations to match individual donations up to $200.00 per year.
